TV Around the Web – December 13th, 2014
-After a long process, HBO has finally finished converting The Wire into 16:9 HD (from its original 4:3 standard definition). Creator David Simon weighs in with his in-depth and thoughtful consideration on the impact to the show’s carefully crafted cinematography, ultimately suggesting “it has sufficient merit to exist as an alternate version.”
-‘Tis the season for best of/worst of 2014 lists, including some of our own (see here). Andy Greenwald from Grantland nails some of the lowlights of an otherwise outstanding year of television. We may not agree with all of them, but most are spot on.
